Mixing Powdered Meds With Bacteriostatic Water
STEP 1
Uncap the vials containing the powdered medication (Vial A) and bacteriostatic water (Vial B)
STEP 2
Clean the top of bacteriostatic water Vial B and medication Vial A with an alcohol swab.
STEP 3
Pull back the plunger on the syringe to draw up units. Locate
and remove the mixing syringe (largest syringe) and draw air into it. Then, insert the
needle into Vial B of bacteriostatic water.
STEP 4
Flip the syringe and vial upside down and draw the amount (ML) of water as stated on your prescription.
STEP 5
Insert the needle into the powder Vial A and push the full contents of the syringe into the powder Vial A.
STEP 6
Remove the needle from the Vial A and dispose of the needle.
STEP 7
Store the Vial A in the refrigerator after mixing.
